Birding safaris Uganda Africa
Uganda! “Home of the most sought after birds”. The home of
the shoe bill and mountain gorillas
From the source of the Nile on Lake Victoria to the snow capped Rwenzori
Ranges, the Montane forests of the Virunga volcanoes to the desert plains
of Karamoja. Uganda is an Equatorial country of astonishing contrasts.
No other area in Africa can match its amazing diversity of habitats and
this richness is reflected in it’s ever- burgeoning bird list of
over 1000 species.
Among these are many special birds that include: - Shoebill and the numerous
spectacular Albert Rift Valley endemic Kivu ground thrush, African green
broad bill, Regal sun bird, Handsome francolin, Montane masked apalis.
The huge bird list is more remarkable given the small size of the country
(approximately the size of Great Britain), making it the richest African
birding destination. This safari will give you an opportunity to see for
yourself just how spectacular Uganda, as a birding destination.
