Travel to Uganda

Uganda has about 9 international airliners flying into Uganda on a daily basis and it also has domestic charter flights as well as International Cargo Flights. some of which fly daily or even twice. Airlines that fly to and from Uganda; Kenya Airways/KLM, Ethiopian Airlines, SN Brussels and partners, British Airways and partners, Emirates Airlines, South African Airways, Egypt Air, Turkish Airlines, Quatar and East African Airlines to mention but a few. This means that visitors can easily access Uganda from any part of the world.

Visa Requirements

Visa’s are required for all nationalities and can be obtained from missions abroad and at entry points. The following categories may not require entry visas into Uganda.

  • UN Diplomats having “Laissez passer” documents issued by the UN, or issued by OAU, so long as they are traveling on official duty.
  • East African Nationals.
  • Stateless person’s and refugees with travel documents issued by UN according to the Geneva convention 1951
  • Stay of a maximum of six months
  • Nationals: – Angola, Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Burundi, Comoros Island, Cyprus, Eritrea, Fiji, Gambia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malta, Mauritius, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Island, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Vanuatu, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
  • Diplomatic passports : Italy
  • Valid re- entry permit issued in Kampala.
  • Those continuing their journey within 24 hours to a third country and using same or first connecting aircraft, and not leaving the airport.

  • Single entry visa – $100
  • 6-12 months – $100
  • 36 months – $200
  • Students – $100

Vaccination requirements

  • Yellow Fever – Cholera, and we would advise for one to take anti- malaria treatment.
